Meeting 2011/02/22

Discussion

  1. At first, focus on inpatient stroke care (the other is outpatient care).
  2. Consider patient  fill in the questionnaire both during their stay in the hospital and within a week after discharge.
  3. Consider what do stroke patients need and what can service provider give during rehabilitation period.
  4. Consider items fit for patients and those fit for their main caregivers.
  5. Among satisfaction items, there are still some aspect easy to fulfill and others are not. Therefore, the CAT assume each item has its own difficulty is reasonable.

Tasks

  1. Develop several semi-structured, open-ended questions to facilitate discussion about needs for OT rehabilitation services with stroke patients.
  2. Prepare 30 to 50 items based on current patient satisfaction structure for further discussion.
  3. Write the instruction given to patient answering the questionnaire. The aim of the instruction is to make sure patients' answer focus on OT.
  4. When complete the first draft of any of the three Tasks above, discuss with other RA to get more clinical OT experience for revising the draft.

Advanced Thinking
  1. Think about the difference in response type between patients and their main caregivers, and how to us DIF to deal with this systematic bias.
